Magikarp Shiny LUNAR
In celebration of the upcoming Spring Festival, various stores in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia will be distributing serial codes for a Shiny Magikarp from January 28 to February 3. The Level 19 Shiny Magikarp is nicknamed Lunar and holds a Rare Candy. It knows the moves Splash and Bounce.
Shiny Tapu Koko Melemele
This Shiny Tapu Koko was distributed to players who inserted a serial code that was given away at participating stores in Hong Kong and Taiwan from April 28 to May 31, 2017. The serial codes could be used to obtain Tapu Koko from April 28 to June 30, 2017 on a Japanese, PAL, or Taiwanese region system.
Midnight Form Lycanroc Gamestop
This Midnight Form Lycanroc was distributed to players who inserted a serial code that was given away at various locations in select countries. The serial codes could be used to obtain Lycanroc from May 5 to August 4, 2017. It was distributed to celebrate the release of the Guardians Rising TCG expansion.

Ash's Greninja is featured in the Special Demo Version of Pokémon Sun and Moon. In it, Sun, the player character, is given a Greninja with Ash as his Original Trainer to take care of, met by Ash on October 17, 2013 at level 5 in the Kalos region. Completing the demo allows the player to transfer the Greninja to the full game.
Vulpix Alolan Form
This Alolan Vulpix was distributed via local wireless at the Pokémon Center Sapporo in Japan from December 1, 2016 to January 31, 2017. It was distributed to celebrate the reopening of the Pokémon Center Sapporo. It was distributed later at all Pokémon Center stores and Pokémon Stores in Japan from February 1 to March 12, 2017.
Birthday Comfey
Pikachu, Eevee, and Comfey will be available as birthday distributions at Pokémon Center stores in Japan. Players will be able to obtain one of these three Pokémon if they visit a Pokémon Center store during the month of the birthday and provide proof of their birthday.
Sparkling Spring Festival Bewear
This Bewear was distributed via local wireless at Pokémon Center stores and Pokémon Stores in Japan from April 15 to May 7, 2017. It was distributed to promote the (Japanese: ピカピカ春祭り Sparkling Spring Festival) campaign.
Munchlax Wi-Fi Event
This Munchlax was distributed via the Nintendo Network from November 18, 2016 to January 11, 2017 (although the game was not released in Europe until November 23, 2016). When the player collects Munchlax, they are given a Snorlium Z at the same time.
Pikachu with Ash's hat
A collection of Pikachu wearing hats made famous by Ash Ketchum, the star of the Pokémon anime, will be made available to anyone who buys tickets to the series’ upcoming film ahead of its premiere. The latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine CoroCoro revealed the whole set of six, scans of which are found on fan site Serebii.net.
Marshadow Mount Tensei
LIMITED QUANTITY! ONLY 3 FOR EVERY ORDER!! This Marshadow was distributed in theaters in Japan via local wireless during the airing of 20th Pokémon movie from July 15 to September 30, 2017. It was also distributed during two pre-release events on July 2, 2017.
